国立天文台CfCA 計算サーバ(GP-PC)利用者各位
平素より当方の計算機システムをご利用いただき、どうも有り難うございます。
大変遅くなりましたが、先ほど計算サーバ(GP-PC)の供用を再開いたしました。
しかし設定未了な部分がまだ多く、以下はそれを含めた注意点となります。
・既報のように、これまでの中規模サーバ(SPC)と計算サーバ(GP-PC)のノード群が統合されました。
いずれのノードにも m000.cfca.nao.ac.jp からジョブを投入して頂くことになります。
ジョブ管理アプリとしては引き続きpbsをご利用いただきます。
・現時点では、qsubコマンドに -m オプションを付加してもジョブの開始時や終了時のメールが送信されません。
これはCfCA内のメール送信経路が未設定なためです。
この問題は一両日中に解決され、メールが送信されるようなるはずです。
・旧計算サーバ系のキューは従来と不変です (long, mid, short, openmp)。
・旧中規模サーバ系のキューは epyc-1node へ集約されました。これは従来のキュー single と等価ですが、名称が変更されました。
・旧中規模サーバ系のキュー small はその属性がキュー openmp と重複する部分が多いため、このたび廃止されました。
今後はキュー openmp をお使いください。
・旧中規模サーバ系機器に接続されるストレージ /cfca-work の供用再開には今少しを時間を要します。
その間には /gwork0 をご利用ください。
・新しい計算サーバの利用の手き引は従来の計算サーバのそれ

を引き継ぎますが、改訂作業が間に合っておりません。
各所に古い記載がありますので御注意ください。
特に従来の中規模サーバを統合した部分の記載は未完成です。
随時の改訂を行てっておりますが、不明点があればいつでもお問い合わせください。
・来たる3月まで、キュー属性やファイルシステムの構成については必要に応じた変更が随時加えられる可能性がございます。

Dear users of the GP-PC system at CfCA/NAOJ,
We have just resumed the operation of GP-PC, the general-purpose PC farm.
However, there are still many details that have not been set up yet, and the following are some notes that include them.
* As previously announced, the computing nodes of the former SPC (Small Parallel Computers) have been integrated into the new GP-PC.
You can submit your jobs to both kinds of the computing nodes from the same server: m000.cfca.nao.ac.jp .
The job management system remains the same as before; pbs.
* At this time, no e-mails are sent at the start or end of a job even when the "-m" option is added to the qsub command,
This is because the e-mail transfer route in CfCA is not yet configured.
This problem should be resolved in the next day or two, and e-mail notification will be available soon.
* The former GP-PC queues remain intact: long, mid, short, openmp .
* The former SPC queues have been consolidated into just one queue named "epyc-1node" .
It is equivalent to the former queue "single", but its name has been changed.
* The former SPC queue "small" has been discontinued because many of its attributes overlap with those of the queue "openmp" on the new system.
Please use the queue "openmp" from now on.
* It will take some time before /cfca-work (the storage connected to former SPC) is back in service.
In the meantime, please use the other storage area, /gwork0.
* As for the user instruction webpage, refer to the former GP-PC webpage:

However, we have not finished revising it in time.
Note that there are out-of-date descriptions everywhere.

* The queue attributes and the file system configuration may be changed as needed.
This will be particularly true until the coming March (2025) when we expect the operation becomes more stable.
