Dear CfCA users,
In this mail, we announce the information on the new supercomputer that is open in the CfCA users' meeting, which was recently held.
- Login account continuation
The new supercomputer (XD2000) is scheduled to go into operation on December 1, 2024. XD2000 consists of System A and System B. They both have an architecture that is an enhancement from the current XC50. System A has the larger memory bandwidth than XC50. System B has the larger amount of memory than XC50.
We believe that the source codes and science targets are similar to the current ones. Therefore, we will continue your accounts and queueing categories during FY2024(until the end of March 2025) if you have applied for the application for FY2024.
- Call for new user
As for those users who have not yet applied for the above application or those who are aiming for higher queueing categories than the previous applications, we will call new applications around August 2024. Then you can use the new supercomputer from Dec. 1.
- Pilot operation phase
From the start of operation of the new supercomputer to the end of March 2025, the supercomputer will be in a pilot operation phase with frequent changes in queueing and so on. During this period, there is also a possibility of large-scale execution of selected application, and you cannot use the supercomputer while that is performed.
Although the above schedule is planned, the details of the application period and treatment of your queueing category are subject to change. Please wait for further information.

天文シミュレーションプロジェクト計算機共同利用者の皆様、
先日CfCAユーザーズミーティングが開催されました。
そこで2024年12月1日稼働予定の新スーパーコンピュータ（XD2000）について、いくつか報告をしましたので、中でも重要なものについてはメールでもご連絡いたします。
- アカウント継続
XD2000はシステムAとシステムBから成り、いずれのアーキテクチャも現行のXC50のそれを強化したものです。システムAはXC50と比べてメモリバンド幅が強化されています。システムBはXC50と比べてメモリ量が強化されています。使用される計算コードやサイエンスターゲットは現システムの延長線上のものと考えています。
そこで、2024年度申請として採択された場合、2024年度中(2025年3月末まで)はカテゴリを継続します。
- 新規利用アカウントの募集
また、上記の申請をしていない利用者の方や、上記の申請より上位のカテゴリを狙う方に関しては2024年8月頃にも申請を可能にし、新スーパーコンピュータ稼働開始日より利用できるようにしたいと考えています。
- 試験運用
新スーパーコンピュータ運用開始から2025年3月末まではキュー構成など頻繁に変わる試験運用と位置付けます。この時期にカテゴリSによる大規模実行も行われる可能性があります。
上記の通り予定されておりますが、募集時期やカテゴリ分け等の詳細に関しては変更の可能性があります。
